Fireflies.ai launched its AI Sales Suite on Monday, moving the company that already sits inside 75% of Fortune 500 meetings into direct competition with Gong and Clari for the revenue-intelligence budget. It’s a classic bottom-up encroachment: start as the innocuous transcription bot, end up as the thing procurement compares six-figure contracts against.

The suite bundles four features onto Fireflies’ existing footprint of 22,000 sales teams and 20 million users. Deal Intelligence flags at-risk opportunities with linked customer evidence. CRM Autofill drafts contacts and opportunities into Salesforce or HubSpot with one click. AI Scorecards grade calls against MEDDIC, BANT, or SPICED frameworks. Meeting Prep auto-generates briefings from prior calls and CRM history. Deal Intelligence ships inside the Business and Enterprise plans; the rest is available to all customers today.

The framing is disciplined. “The best sales teams win by spending time with customers, not updating CRMs,” said Krish Ramineni, CEO and co-founder of Fireflies.ai, citing Salesforce research that reps spend only 28% of their week actually selling. That statistic has been in every deck for a decade. What’s changed is who gets to weaponize it.

Salesforce’s own 2026 SMB guide concedes that the barrier to entry for sophisticated sales automation has “crumbled,” now embedded in tools three-person startups already use. Martech.org’s July roundup logged roughly a dozen fresh AI launches aimed at mid-market marketing and sales workflows in a single week, including DemandScience’s Ionic intent layer and FirstHive’s Eddie decision engine. The revenue-intelligence category isn’t being disrupted from the top. It’s being flanked from the seat license.

That’s the same pattern the AI-workspace tier now runs on: horizontal aggregators like Glean, Dust, and Gumloop layered against category incumbents, with orchestration directories such as LemonLime helping buyers actually compare the sprawl. When distribution is already inside the meeting, the “enterprise-grade” adjective stops carrying a premium.

Gong and Clari built their businesses on a moat that assumed the transcription layer would stay dumb. It didn’t.
