AliExpress announced a global strategic affiliate partnership with YouTube on October 20, extending the YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program to AliExpress’s catalog across the United States, United Kingdom, Brazil, and Germany. Creators in those four markets can now discover and tag AliExpress products inside YouTube Studio across long-form video, Shorts, and livestreams, with Brand+ (AliExpress’s curated brand selection) positioned as the headline tier.
The deal reads less like a product launch and more like a logistical consequence. YouTube says more than 35 billion hours of shopping-related content were watched on the platform over the past year. Amazon joined the affiliate program in August. Existing merchants already include Nike, Etsy, Best Buy, SharkNinja, Michaels, and Michael Kors. AliExpress piloted the format in South Korea in March 2026, and the global rollout was the next legible step.
“Content and commerce are converging globally, and this partnership connects AliExpress’s affiliate ecosystem with YouTube’s creator ecosystem,” said Eric Zhang, VP at AliExpress.
The strategic frame worth noting is that YouTube’s affiliate program, launched in 2022, is on track to reach 35 markets by the end of 2026. That’s a deliberate reconstruction of the discovery layer for consumer goods. Marketplace search is being quietly supplemented by YouTube’s creator-driven commission channel, where product selection happens inside a video rather than a results page.
For owner-run brands already listing on AliExpress, the practical shift is specific. A creator in Manchester or São Paulo browsing Brand+ inside YouTube Studio can tag a product and ship it into a review, haul, or Shorts cut without a pitch, a fee, or an agency. Passive catalog presence becomes an acquisition channel the brand didn’t staff for.
Which means the competitive surface moves backward, into the listing itself. Title clarity, image quality, variant data, and review density decide which products get picked up when a creator is scanning a curated feed for the next three-minute segment. Access is no longer the constraint. Legibility is.
