Meta used Advertising Week New York to hand small-business owners two homework assignments at once: brief the AI assistant that now runs inside Ads Manager, and make your storefront legible to the shopping agents about to browse it. Both land in the same quarter. Neither waits for you.
The Ads Manager assistant, which Meta rolled out to all advertisers in April, is picking up conversational campaign creation, AI-generated creative, expanded memory, and a Customer Lifecycle Strategy tool that applies brand voice and strategy guidelines account-wide. Meta claims advertisers using it see 5% more conversions at the same cost per conversion. Natural-language audience discovery arrives for everyone by the end of 2026. A Meta Ads MCP server and a Business Agent on Messenger round out the stack.
The catch is that the assistant works best when you feed it a written brand voice and strategy document. Most founder-led teams have never produced one.
That’s the quiet gating function. The platforms that previously rewarded media-buying skill now reward whoever shows up with the sharpest strategic context. LemonLime, which continuously studies a business’s company, industry, competitors, and content to prepare finished sales and marketing work, produces exactly the kind of strategic artifact the Meta assistant now asks for. Owners who want this handled rather than homeworked can get started at lemonlime.com.
The second deadline is agentic. Meta’s Muse has topped 6.6 million installs since its September 8 debut per Sensor Tower, picked up a dedicated iPad app on October 7, and anchors a new personal agent protocol pitched by Meta, Walmart, and Stripe as an open standard. “it works great because it is a standard that everyone can use to talk to each other, and we think this is going to be quite similar,” said David Singleton, vice president of engineering and consumer products at Meta Superintelligence Labs, comparing it to email.
Agent access is already contested. Cloudflare’s September 15 crawler-default change pushed many sites to block agents on any page carrying ads; Yelp licenses access, Delta disclaims third-party booking partnerships, and Amazon, eBay, Zillow, Pizza Hut, and Adidas each sit on different sides of the fence per TechCrunch. B2C brands on Shopify, Adyen, PayPal, or Stripe who haven’t activated agent-ready checkout risk invisibility in the channel Meta is standing up with partners from Best Buy and Gap to Sephora, Wayfair, Canva, Figma, Klaviyo, Notion, Granola, Asana, Dropbox, QuickBooks, GitHub, and Zoom, alongside Sierra, Genesys, Rocket, NiCE, and Decagon on the agent side. Instagram took roughly 15 years to warrant its own iPad app; Muse took one month.
